I'm loving the way everyone is weaving fantasy and reality, and in most cases, we wouldn't change what we're doing now: modes of travel, places to
stay, things to do. So, would you say we are living our dreams?

I'm about to head off on a trip I've dreamed of for many years - a six week road trip through the US northwest, western Canada, various parts of
Alaska, and the Washington-Oregon-California coast.
However, falling back on the "money is no object" idea, I have two trips in mind. The first is a fully staffed sailing cruise among the South Pacific islands. The second is a no expense spared trip to the Antarctic to photograph the penguins, ice shelfs and ice born sea life. Anyone want to come along?

An all expenses paid trip -- sure.
I've wanted to go to Slovenia. Saw the capital city (Ljublianja, or spelled something like that) on a destination board at Gatwick airport and have wanted to go since then. Read about Montevideo, Uruguay in a book once and it intrigued me so it's on the list. First class accommodations, private planes, translators, pool boys. |

Don, I'd go on either of those trips with you!
I have to say, for the last couple of years, we knew my husbands sabbatical was coming up, and we saved our money for a big trip, we picked Hawaii. That's pretty much our dream trip of the moment, and we're going to live it in just a few more weeks. But the one week restriction on this one makes it tough. I have so many places on my list, a lot of them wouldn't really suit a 1-week trip...like Australia, Alaska, Russia, Africa. Although, if money is REALLY no object, I think one of those super luxury African safaris, where you get chauffeured to your "camp" in a private jet would be pretty nice. If I were going for something closer, and bit more accessible in a short time, I think I'd pick Barcelona. I really want to go there, and it would be a lovely place to spend just a week. |
