We're going to be spending a week in Donegal this summer.

We arrive in Dublin on a Friday morning and we're trying to decide where to spend the night on Friday, as we don't get our house til Saturday. We'll have the whole day on Friday and we're not interested in spending it in Dublin. (We've spend lots of time there and we'll be back there at the other end of this trip).

We're not sure if we're going to take the N2 or N3.... It's only about a 4 hour ride to our place, but we figured we'd stop along the way and go somewhere we haven't been yet (which is pretty much that whole area around Cavan ... or we could go up to Armagh and Omagh....

Any thoughts? There hasn't been anywhere in Ireland we have disliked so far. We like the towns and the cities. We loved Clonmacnoise and the Giant's Causeway and Killarney and Newgrange..... I'd like to see some standing stones or some castly ruins maybe?
