CD, what an exciting game you got to see! I can't remember, were your seats under the overhang? It looked pretty wet and nasty.
I'm kicking myself for turning down the tickets for Saturday. Beckett pitches a complete game shutout, and I could've been there |

It was a great game! We never sold the other set of tickets, which were under the overhang over by 1st. We never went over there though. Ours were Loge seats -
behind home, slightly towards first. I was bummed Tek and Lowell were both out, but Papi showed up and so did his bat. Youk is the best and when Papelbon is
ready to take the field, what an incredible energy boost - when you hear the first notes of Shipping up to Boston.!!!

Well, since I am older than 45, I must be in my late 40's, right?

Mike - fingers crossed for your weather in VT. Everything I own is soggy.

Rave: The weather has been beautiful the whole time. The family reunion was yesterday and this morning (for some). We got no rain at all on Thursday or Friday,
and only a brief (10 minute) drizzle yesterday.

Just got our puppy. He's a red dappled mini dachshund. I hope I can live up to his adoration. He's following me everywhere, and tries to do
everything I ask him to. And, shhhhh, he's in bed by nine! I hope we get to sleep till six.
Just found out that the last chemo worked for Dave! His white blood count came down from anywhere between 70 and 90 to a normal range of 6.5 Unbelievable! We're dancing! It sure took a long time for any positive results, and we know we're not done, but HALLELUJAH!

So glad to hear the good news GR. I admire the way both of you are coping. My best wishes for great results from here on.
Good luck with your new puppy. I told my sister I was considering getting a puppy, if for no other reason, for my personal safety. Although she is a dog lover, her advice was: get a security system. |

I'm so happy for you & Dave, GR! Hope it won't be long before he's feeling back to his normal self.
Simone1a: I agree with your friend. When you're feeling better, you can travel & leave the security system on - at home alone - with no repercussions! Sometimes, when I'm opening the door in the dark for our son's dog to go 'out', I wonder exactly how that's 'secure'? Also, my arm purely aches at night from throwing his squeaky toy so much for him most times. The worst is I can't go on an all day outing - like all day errand running, as he'll need to go out. He's a good pooch & cute, too, but, I guess I'm just selfish. |

GR, what wonderful news. Give Dave my best with good energy for the future.
I can envision you walking around your house with a puppy following. He must be adorable. |

Oh, thank you, All! It's so nice to feel so hopeful again.
The best friends have been those who have been there throughout talking about the future, and envisioning the whole, healthy, complete attitude, and not those who have talked about his good life as if it was over. You've been there for me and said the right things, and I appreciate it. Blarney (as in the Blarney Stone because among all those he's kissed, he's probably done that, he's so chatty and full of nonsense) is doing well. His best trick so far is sleeping through the night. The one night I woke him to take him outside, he showed his displeasure by crying and whining, so he taught me quickly what was really important to him. We thought of calling him our Travel Bug, but thought we'd be explaining geocaching to everyone all over again. So, with one look at him and his personable foolishness, he earned his name of Blarney. He makes everyone he meets feel as if he or she is the most special person in the world. What a talent! |

GR: I've never met a person who's had one of those type dogs & regretted it. In each case, they are life long friends.
