Sorry about the Groundhog Day approach to this, but.... Keith's nephew's birthday tomorrow. Unsporty, very nerdy 22 yr old with the clothes sense of a
gerbil. Just got a 1st in evolutionary biology- graduates Monday. Short of boring clothes, what am I going to get him for his birthday THIS year?

I am not going to repeat what my 25 year old son just told me to get him
Other choices, hmmm, anything electronic. DVDs, iPods, etc, etc. |

Sheila - I think your family should call a moratorium on gift giving after age 21 except for major milestones after that. How about a voucher to a book store
or a restaurant? Or a plastic model of the progression from Ape to Man ? Set of DVDs to some geeky ol' TV show? Or Seinfeld, everyone loves Seinfeld...

The DVDs might be a good idea..... What's Seinfeld?
I wonder if he's ever been in a restuarant without 'is mam? |

I had a brain wave whilst searching DVDs- I've got him the first series of Charlie's Angels. He doesn't remember the '70s.
And he has a new job at the national Trust, so I've bought him a big photo book on Scottish posh houses. Daisy, thanks for the brain wave. |

I'm thinking you should add a nice sweater into the package. Just don't introduce him to my daughter. |

If I'd listened to his granny, it would have been a packet of Persil:)

"What's Seinfeld?"
One of America's all-time most popular TV comedy series. It aired in the 90s. It follows the everyday lives of four characters living in NYC. Outrageously funny. |

Sheila, nobody will know what a "packet of Persil" is!
I never liked Seinfeld, the show, much and I don't like Jerry Seinfeld much either. Don't dislike him, just meh. |

For future reference, assuming by nerdy you mean sort of geeky/ into science fiction sort rather than just opposite of being trendy / cool?
DVD sets to look out might include Blade Runner (there's a special edition set with various versions of the film), Terminator DVDs, with first 3 (or in few months time, all 4 films), series such as Babylon 5 or Battlestar Galactica. Or for non sci-fi I love House and Dexter! |

Sandiscot: [Sheila, nobody will know what a "packet of Persil is!] Some of us do now!
I can't believe your son let you get by without learning to like Seinfield. Mine certainly didn't let me get by. I got sucked in watching it with them. Another big fan here! |
