Hotel is fine if corporate. Saw Royal Ballet last eve-was wonderful.
Otherwise museums and seeing friends.
Hope to post more later!

Had a fun evening with some London friends last eve. Spent most of the morning trying to get mr mc's phone to work over here. Complete story on return. Then The National Gallery, which was a bit 'meh' after the Louvre etc Today we went to services at Southwark Cathedral -- had to bushwack as the Jubilee line was out south of Green Park. Said a quick hello to our friend who is Dean there. Had a quick lunch at The Forum Cafe opposite the British Museum, then mr mc went to see a Palestinian poet speak and I went shopping at the BM and actually went upstairs for a bit-nice new clocks exhibit. Tomorrow we go to spend the night with friends in Kent--then mr mc is on to Canterbury for his conference--I come back to London to see more friends and then off to Rome on Thursday. |

London and Rome, a great combo. Taking it slow sounds good to me. I'll be in London in a couple weeks also.

Ooooooooooo Niki--the Baroque exhibit at V&A is a MUST if you are there before July 19.
Pluckley was bucolic and very pleasant. Our host is the Archdeacon of Maidstone which comes with a 150 yr old 'Old Rectory' and a swath of gereen and flowers surrounded by 6 ft hedges and fields beyond. I wish I could have stayed there for a bit .... Had fun with internet pals yesterday and well as a London friend. Had lunch outside at Geoge Inn off Borough High St in Southwark. Am at the Hesperia Hotel behind Victoria Station, mostly because the Gatwick express leaves from there. Off to Rome tomorrow:) |
