PS - if traveling as a couple on their 747, the last 3 rows of the outside 2 seat sections are the best. There's a curve in the fuselage that leaves a bunch of room between the window seat and the window. (we've traveled the LAX to Australia route a lot)

We are flying Qantas to Australia in one week. I arranged my flight to SFO so that we would have at least three hours in SFO and I could plead and beg for an emergency row exit for my very long legs. I am still young enough and robust looking enough that I have been pretty lucky in getting emergency row. Now I just have to slap money on them.
