For now only made reservation for the August cruise along Norway coast, RT from Copenhagen, crossing the Polar Circle. It looks, only 2 days in Copenhagen, but better then nothing.

Need to figure out where to stay and what to see - and the mermaid won't be there

I'm trying to decide on trip for next summer.

Just a little background: I'm an older woman, I travel solo, I don't like tour groups (except for day trips), I rarely return to where I've previously traveled, 10 days preferred, and I like being based in cities.

Here are some places I'm considering:

I just got them last night.

6 nights (Sunday depart, Sunday back home) and now, to plan.

Currently thinking of heading straight to Bruges when I land, for 3 nights... then two nights in Ghent, then Saturday AM back to Brussels, spend the day, overnight, and on the plane back home. I'd do a day trip from Bruges (Ieper).

Good allotment of time? Or should I change the Ghent/Brussels night count? In addition to tromping at least one battlefield (Ieper, and...

Well, tomorrow evening I will be off to Iceland. I just checked the weather forecast and the windchill for Thursday when I arrive is going to be 32 degrees F with chance of rain.....I'm prepared for any thing....rain, sleet, sun, cold, heat....
I am plan to see and do lots of wonderful things, so let's hope that my camera doesn't break like it did in the middle of my Scotland trip and that I'll have photos to show you all.

Dusseldorf business trip: any restaurant advice?

I'm off to Dusseldorf for business this weekend. Both my hotel (Maritim) and the office are RIGHT at the airport and I know I can take my evening meals at the hotel but am wondering if anyone can recommend any worthwhile restaurants either in vicinity of airport or that merit a trip into the town centre?

I will try and get into the centre, particularly the old town area, one evening if I can if only for a short stroll/ mini sight-see.

I'm going to Greece in 4 weeks! We're leaving on April 30th.

My family has been asking me to go on a trip somewhere warm after my university graduation and we just booked a 15 day trip to Greece. We got a GREAT deal. 1800$ CND (taxes included) for airfare to Athens, transfers to/from the airport and 14 nights at the Kinetta Beach resort, which is 60km from Athens. We also get 3 meals a day. So, here we are in Landstuhl. It's windy, cold, with intermittent wintry mix. The forecast is the same for the rest of the week. Yuck! We did manage to get out for about an hour this morning during a dry patch to see the castle here in town, but, just yuck! When does spring begin here? DH quickly learned the local motto. I'm considering a trip to Inzigkofen in the Danube Valley to attend a training workshop in October.

As we'd fly into Stuttgart I'm trying to work out how many days to add at the beginning and/ or end of the trip to explore Stuttgart and/ or other towns/ locations in the region.

I'm also looking for advice on how best to travel between Stuttgart ando Inzigkofen.

We're open to hiring a rental car for a couple of days but as...
