Rant/Rave: mr mc is at a conference in DC. I miss him, but he's having a good time and so am I
Rave: He had lunch with a former student and friend of ours who is doing wonderfully in grad school
RANT: Who gave the order for the waters to come crashing down? If it keeps raining I'll have to send a boat to pick up mr mc at the airport.

I think Foa Foa is one of the dumbest teams ever to compete on the show. Poor Liz was sadly misjudged, as her exit speech proved. She wasn't angry and was still rooting for her team. Didn't she "fish" out most of the puzzle pieces and then catch on to the pattern first? She's been a fierce competitor and a hard worker around camp. I wasn't particularly rooting for her, but I think she got a raw deal.

OTOH, I think "electing" Shambo team leader was...

I find it incredibly depressing to watch these players in unending rain: cold, hungry, and miserable. It just makes me not want to watch the show. (But also, I'm wondering, can they really not build a shelter that will keep them dry? Can't they put 3 times as many palm fronds on the roof?)

When Jeff said no pizza for anyone, I thought, how MEAN. It seems like each season they want to ratchet up the suffering -- the challenges are much more difficult and violent, and they...

It's the bewitching season, again. We've been bewitched by our new boy, and my daughter did this pumpkin for us. It even has his wrinkled knees!

How's everyone's weather? We've had a bit of rain to get us out of the sunny summer we had since the May GTG! I think all y'all brought us luck for good weather this year. Come again!

Bye bye, what's their names. Have a lovely wedding and a nice life. They really got on my nerves and I'm glad to see them go.

Miss America and Mr are my new favorite team. He's too nice. We'll see if it pays off. Everybody else is kind of meh for me.

Rant/Rave: I'm in Syracuse, NY visiting my 103 yr old mother and it's cold. She's amazing considering, but it's rather wearing.

Rave: mr mc is doing great and I have a super student assistant for my class.
Rave: We're going to London & Paris in early December. We decided we didn't want to freeze in Germany again--so we'll freeze in our two favorite cities instead.

Anyone watching? Have I missed the discussion? I'm not particularly enjoying this one.

I missed the first episode where I gather Russell endeared himself to everyone. I haven't noticed him being the exceptional villain, just playing the game.

I gather there's another medical evacuation next week, and from looking at who was looking at the downed victim, either Russell S or Shambo is out. Anyone else get that vibe?

I think everyone on Foa Foa is going to get their just desserts, and that includes all the suckers who are falling for Russell's BS. I feel sorry for the one decent person there -- the doctor -- who will not be there long, I predict.

Whoa, that Russell guy is NASTY. I sure hope he gets his just desserts, which would be something like his team members beating the $hi+ out of him. If he burned my socks I'd have to kill him.

The only people I like on that team (Foa Foa? Can that be right?) are the doctor and the cop. I guess I'm rooting for Gula at this stage.

Maybe everyone is busy and too busy to be ranting or raving? It's always nice to see what "all you all" are doing. "Perfect!" Those are two expressions that cracked everyone up at a recent GTG.

Rant: Had to give back our son's dachshund, and our Blarney is quiet and shaking today. I wonder if he thinks he'll get farmed out and away, too. I think I'll make time to visit Tazo in her home port, and maybe take them for a walk together.

A little early, but so what!

Rave: Tomorrow morning I pack up the truck and drive up to Mt. Lemmon, just outside Tucson, for a weekend of camping, BBQ, and home brew. It is the Tucson Homebrew Club's Summer Chill. The brewers are bringing the beer and I am doing BBQ. Got to get there by noon Friday, set up my new smoker, and start cooking. Friday will be baby back ribs and chicken. Saturday morning, I will fire the smoker up again and do 2 pork butts for pulled pork. We...
